OGC Sever Admins are here to help us all enjoy the games we play, server admins can and should refer to senior admins if decisions are disputed within OGC membership or for guidance when uncertain on how to procede.

Bad Company 2 Server Admins please note the following guidelines.
For the time being and if possible and definately when we have all members playing and the server is full, admins will manage the server out of game but in direct communications through vent with members in the game. This will be on a half hour or two map rotation so that everyone gets to play and admin. Admins can negotiate to miss maps they don't like or to take a break from playing etc!! Admins are also asked to periodically publicise the server and forum : Add us to your favourites, visit us at www.onlinegc.co.uk. In game admin will be possible as soon as rcon is updated.
Please always remember our reputation is at risk if we are seen to not be consistent and fair, other players will be watching. A well run and fair server is the best advert for our community. Players on learning curve ranks like ourselves will appreciate a server that supports them, we all know how hard this game is now.
These are the basic rules and actions to take, a bit of common sense should apply but remember this is a public server it is a legal requirement, yes legal to prevent certain behaviours;
Escalation is as follows: Warning - then kick - then kick and ban
Example:Bad language chat - one warning, repeat bad language chat - kick, if they return to challenge and continue - kick and ban. Unless you consider the first incident to be grossly offensive, then it's a straight kick and ban! This might be one to bounce off Senior admins if you are unsure.
Unnaceptable behaviour list standard escalation process applies:
* Bad language chat
* Lack of respect for other players, name calling (noob etc)
* Bad Racist or gross indecent comments
* Lack of respect for server rules/ server admins (see below for dealing with over max rank players)
Unsporting behaviour may also be subject to the standard escalation such as spamming chat, spamming heavy weapons, spawn camping subject to reasonable warnings being issued.
Cheating or suspected cheating:
Instant ban applies where proven, but this can be difficult, Punkbuster should get most but if you can, check with others to confirm suspicions.
If it's a possible cheat then kick only, if challenged in a negative way then ban.
Managing Max Rank Limit:
Please maintain the server maximum rank for players at no more than two points above the highest ranked OGC member playing. Rcon isn't working for automatically setting the maximum Rank. So to prevent uneven play, to give new players and OGC members maximum opportunity to rank up with the least pain, work with the members in game to identify players joining the server who rank above the maximum.
If you have a key board that will support hot key text inserts this is handy now because we must inform the players in game of the maximum rank permitted at that time.

The standard auto message should be set to or typed as: Max rank on this server is currently set at level 10
Follow this by stating : Please respect the server rules
If you right click on a player name in the players panel you can choose an option to send this player a message, if you have time and they are not being arsey because they have seen the max rank message, then send them a polite message before you kick them something like : We respect your rank achievement, please respect our rules and leave.
Failure to comply is a kick, standard escalation process applies!
The limit for messaging is 100 characters
Managing reserved slots:
Server Admins may also kick players to make room on the server for reserved slot members if they ask.
The standard auto message is : OGC have priority on this server, last player in, first out when the server is full!
(Check the player entry time through the logging tab, this only runs when rcon is open) Again if you right click on a player name in the players panel you can choose an option to send this player a message, if you have time and they are not being arsey because they have seen the last in first out message, then send them a polite message before you kick them something like : We regret we have members waiting, please respect our rules and leave.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Do not remove OGC members under the rule even if they do not have a reserved slot.
The reserve members only can ask for an admin to make room. They must wear the OGC tag so players in game can see this is happening fairly, this does not apply to reserved slot members from outside Communites & Clans.

OGC members who do not want a reserve slot are kindly requested not to ask for this feature.
Admins on rota will inform OGC non reserved members or guests on vent of space as it becomes available by players leaving or through the max rank rules being enforced.[list]
